Is Degustabox Good Value for Money?

Published by Bee Money Savvy on

Degustabox is a monthly subscription box that contains 10-15 new-to-the-market food/drink products. I like food and I love a good deal, so a discounted sign up offer on Degustabox managed to sway me into signing up for a box… but was it good value for money?

My Degustabox July Box

August Degustabox

What’s Included?

Miso Tasty Miso Soup | Rosie’s Pig Flat Tyre Cider | Ribena Sparkling x2 | Percol Iced Coffee | London Flavours Premium Crisps x2 | Capsicana Smoked Paprika Seasoning & Guacamole Mix | Heinz Salad Cream | Peckish Cheese Trays | Cadbury Highlights Milk Chocolate | KitKat Senses | Pulsin Raw Choc Brownie | Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles

I paid £7.99 for my July box (the KitKat Senses were a bonus for signing up too!)

Price Comparison

Degustabox kindly includ a break down of how much each product costs inside my box. But, being the bargain hunter I am, I’m going to see if I can find them cheaper!

Degustabox’s Price Comparison (Total: £25.15)

Miso Tasty Miso Soup £3.75 | Rosie’s Pig Flat Tyre Cider £2.00 | Ribena Sparkling x2  £2.70 each | Percol Iced Coffee £1.50 | London Flavours Premium Crisps 95p each | Capsicana Smoked Paprika Seasoning £1 & Guacamole Mix 65p | Heinz Salad Cream £1.49 | Peckish Cheese Trays £1.59 | Cadbury Highlights Milk Chocolate £2.99 | Pulsin Raw Choc Brownie £1.59 | Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles £1.29

Bee Money Savvy’s Price Comparison (Total £22.53)

Miso Tasty Miso Soup £2.50 (SushiSushi) | Rosie’s Pig Flat Tyre Cider £1.50 (Morrisons.com) | Ribena Sparkling x2  N/A | Percol Iced Coffee £1.41 (Superfood Market) | London Flavours Premium Crisps N/A | Capsicana Smoked Paprika Seasoning N/A & Guacamole Mix N/A | Heinz Salad Cream £1 (Sainsbury’s) | Peckish Cheese Trays N/A | Cadbury Highlights Milk Chocolate N/A | Pulsin Raw Choc Brownie N/A | Rowntree’s Fruit Pastilles £1 (Morrisons)

Okay, with all my money saving skills I could only find these items £2.62 cheaper elsewhere, so I guess Degustabox aren’t completely lying to us! I also couldn’t find the majority of the items in my July Box anywhere else which does suggest that they are pretty exclusive!

Value for Money Verdict

For £7.99 I managed to bag over £25 worth of food and drink (+ some bonus chocolate) so I’m pretty happy with that! It’s also a really sweet delivery to receive if you like food and surprises!

I’m not entirely sure that I would have ever bought some of these items, but I ended up finding some new food that I’m looking forward to buying (once they start selling them in the shops)!

Even with the value of products you receive I’d be less inclined to pay full price (£12.99) for a Degustabox, but the initial sign up offer is one worth taking advantage of.
