I’ve been a big fan of Quidco since the beginning of my money-saving journey. I love cashback and earn it every time I do any kind of online shopping – it’s one of the first money-saving hacks I recommend to people looking to improve their finances. On top of cashback, Quidco run a range of promotions throughout the year and are constantly adding new features to help you save even more money.
Quidco was founded by Paul and Jennifer Nikkel in Sheffield in May 2005. Their first office opened in London in 2007 and by 2013 the site had over 3.5 million members. The website is now owned by the MoneySupermarket Group and has over ten million members.
How does Quidco work?
Earning cashback through the Quidco website is effortless, every time you want to buy something from an online retailer instead of going directly to the retailer’s website you visit a cashback website instead, then search for the retailer and visit them from Quidco. This way the cashback website receives commission for sending you through to the website you purchased from and then they hand the majority of this commission back to you as cashback.
You can see your cashback rate when you click on your required retailer – once you’ve been directed to the retailer’s website you shop as normal. Your cashback is then calculated and added to your account once they’ve ensured that the purchase has gone through and you aren’t going to return your products.

You can sign up for the Premium membership when you first sign up to Quidco, or by visiting your settings under account type and clicking on the ‘upgrade now’ button.
Compare
Quidco’s newest feature is Compare. You can use Quidco Compare to find and compare insurance, mobile, broadband, loans and energy deals – by using the Quidco Compare platform you can also cash in on cashback on top of any savings you make when signing up to a new provider.
I used this feature to sign up for a new sim-only mobile contract. I got the best deal on the market and pocketed cashback by switching too.
Highest Cashback Guarantee
Arguably the best feature on the Quidco cashback website is the Highest Cashback Guarantee. If you find a higher applicable cashback rate for your purchase on any other UK cashback site, Quidco will match it and add a little extra on top.
To qualify for the highest cashback guarantee the better rate must be identified within 72 hours and proof of the higher cashback rate must be provided in the form of a URL which directs to the appropriate page on an alternate UK cashback website.
