Tips for Finding a Great Deal on Home Insurance 

When it comes to finding a good deal on home insurance there are a number of steps you can take to reduce the cost and/or increase your cover. 

  • Comparison sites are a must. By using a comparison website you’ll be able to see all the deals available to you in one place, making it easy to compare the cost, cover and any personal requirements you might need. 
  • Be wary of the cheapest option. The cheapest cover isn’t always the best deal. Make sure to read the fine print as most cheap insurance deals come with multiple exclusions. 
  • Check what cover you already have. We’re encouraged to take out all sort of insurance – to avoid overpaying make sure that you’re not duplicating cover, especially when it comes to your gadgets and contents insurance. 
  • Never allow your insurance to auto-renew. Insurers tend to increase your premium once your contract is over, set a reminder and make sure to shop around once your deal is up. 
  • Pay annually if you can. It tends to be cheaper to pay annually rather than monthly as some insurers charge interest on monthly payments. If it ischeaper and you can afford to pay upfront choose to pay annually.

  • Property (your address, type of property, number of bedrooms, etc.) 
  • Security (type of locks, burglar alarm, smoke detectors and how often you’re at home) 
  • Your Policy (when you want your cover to begin, cover level, how you will pay) 
  • Policy Holder (details about you, your occupation and anyone else living in the property). 

Once you’ve completed all the required information to your best ability you will receive your quotes. On this page you’ll be able to compare the different quotes provided to best suit your own home insurance needs. 

Take a look through the quotes you’ve been offered and make sure to do your research on which quote is best for your own circumstances, particularly the level of cover you want and whether you want a digital first insurer like insuristic.
