10+ Side Hustle Ideas
The Best Side Hustles to Earn Money
Referral Programmes
Anyone can earn money from referral programs because they are designed to reward people for recommending a product, service, or platform to others. The process is usually simple: you sign up for a referral program, receive a unique referral link or code, and share it with friends, family, or your network through social media, email, or conversations.
When someone signs up or makes a purchase using your link, you earn a commission, bonus, or other rewards such as discounts or credits.
Mystery Shopping
Mystery shopping is one of my favourite side hustles, I’ve been paid to eat, drink and shop for free at my favourite restaurants, bars and shops! I usually do one mystery shopping assignment a week.
Most noteworthy is the fact that I get the money I spent on food/clothes reimbursed as well as a payment for my time. Sounds like something you’d like to do?
Part-Time Work as a Side Hustle
RedWigWam is a website (& app) that offers temporary work which could last from 5 minutes to several weeks! It’s one of the most recommended sites out there, as you can pick and choose the work that suits you, submit your time sheets online and they sort out the rest.
Sound like a site that you’d be interested in? Sign up & start earning a bit of extra money from casual work in your local area. You only have to accept the jobs that you’re interested in and fit around your schedule.
Start a Blog
A blog can turn into a great side hustle! There are tons of bloggers making a full-time income from their blogs! However, you need to know that making money from your blog doesn’t happen overnight! There is no set timeline for when you can and can’t start making money. It can take months, even years to build your blog up to a level where you can start generating income but it’s such a worthwhile project once you’re all set up!
Blogging is probably my favourite side hustle because I’m working for myself and creating the content that I want to share. If you have an interest that you want to share with the world then I highly recommend starting a blog!
Complete Surveys
There are tons of research companies out there that are willing to offer rewards for consumer opinions! The amount you earn with survey sites really does depend on the amount of effort you’re willing to put in! Willing to give it a go? Check out some of the best survey sites, and what they all pay below.
Freelance your Skills
Fiverr is the world’s largest freelance services marketplace. It’s free to sign up and you can offer any service you wish. Common roles that are requested include virtual assistants, writers, photographers, and graphic designers. You can freelance for any job as long as it’s legal and complies with Fiverr’s terms.
Some people work full-time on Fiverr and others offer their services as a side hustle. If you have multiple skills you could offer various services – the beauty of the hustle is that you can have multiple side hustles! Once you complete a buyer’s order, your earnings are transferred straight into your account (you keep 80% of each transaction).
Money-Making Smartphone Apps
There are various task-based apps (including mystery shopping & audits), surveys apps, receipt upload apps, shopping (cashback & selling) & loyalty card apps that you can download onto your phone that enable you to side hustle your way to some extra £££’s.
If you’ve got a phone and some spare time, add these smartphone apps to your list of side hustles.
Rent Out a Spare Room
You can make hundreds of pounds a month by renting out a spare room on Airbnb. No matter what kind of home or room you have to share, Airbnb makes it simple and secure to earn money and reach millions of travellers and you can earn up to £7,500 a year tax-free!
The steps are simple: create your listing – welcome guests – get paid!
Complete Online Offers (Task Websites)
Task websites reward you for completing a variety of offers such as taking online surveys, signing up for free trials, watching videos and playing games. In most cases each offer pays anything between 50p to £25 – this depends on how much in demand a certain offer is.
Swagbucks
The biggest advantage to Swagbucks is the regular bonus competitions (look out for ‘swago’) that offer you the chance to boost your earnings just by completing a bingo card of tasks. You can also earn money by watching videos, completing surveys and playing the daily quiz.
Cashback
Looking to side hustle a decent amount of money for a special occasion? Cashback.co.uk is a great way to earn around £200 at a time, you need to complete 15 offers and then you’re able to cash out your earnings from all the offers at once. For a limited time earn a £10 sign-up bonus.

Become a Social Media Evaluator
Social media evaluation is one of my favourite side hustles. Appen offers work-from-home projects for over 1 million flexible workers in over 130 countries. The most common job on Appen is a Social Media Evaluator. An SME provides feedback on ads, news feeds, and search results on social media platforms.
Payment can vary depending on the project and job that you sign up for. The average job pays around £10 per hour. To get paid, you will need to record your hours and submit an invoice. You’ll be paid monthly through your preferred payment method. As you will be working as an ‘Independent Contractor’, you will need to take care of your taxes.

Market Research
I’ve found market research interviews to be one of the highest-paying side hustles that anyone can do. The research projects vary; with some researchers recruiting in-person participants and others accepting remote feedback. In most cases, you’re either paid via bank transfer or via PayPal and can expect to earn anything between £50-150 for taking part in a quick interview/focus group.
Respondent and UserInterviews are my favourite market research companies.
Review Music and Ads
Slicethepie is a music review website that pays you to review television ads, music and fashion. In terms of side hustles, this one is very irregular.
You can earn around 10p per review. As soon as you’ve earned a minimum of $10, you’ll be able to withdraw your earnings straight to PayPal. While it doesn’t pay much it’s an entertaining way to earn money and it can soon add up!
Reselling as a Side Hustle
Reselling is where you purchase goods to sell them for profit. Individuals and groups are making £30k a month by reselling with Amazon and eBay.
Sourcing stock is the hardest part of reselling because you need to factor in your selling and postage fees, but by sourcing from charity shops and doing your research on postage you’ll be able to make some quick money with this side hustle!
Sell Your Online Data
Why not make the most of the time you spend browsing the internet by earning money for doing so? Please be aware that you may be required to share some personal data with the companies listed below.
Gener8 – a browser extension that runs in the background while you browse the internet. Use your earnings to buy gadgets, gift cards and charity donations in their marketplace.
YouGovSafe – their browser extension allows you to earn money by sharing your browsing and viewing history. Earn money from your Netflix, Amazon Prime, Chrome, and more with YouGovSafe.
MobileXpressions – another mobile app that pays to view your mobile and app usage. Earn £5 for every month you keep the app downloaded.
Matched Betting
Matched Betting involves profiting from the free bets and incentives that bookmakers offer to entice you to use their gambling services. With a few hours of effort a week, I managed to earn £400 within 3 months. Tons of people report earning a full-time income from matched betting. But if you don’t have that much time to spare, you can still earn a substantial amount of money.
Consider A Courier Delivery Job
If you’re looking for a side hustle that can easily be turned into a full-time job, consider becoming a courier. Courier delivery jobs are in high demand, and the work is relatively easy to come by. Plus, you can often work your own hours and make your own schedule. This makes it a great option for those who have a full-time job and just want to earn some extra cash.
