Nuclear power though technically a renewable energy source—the energy comes from splitting atoms, which can be remade—isn’t usually not counted among renewable energy options because the byproduct of nuclear power is nuclear waste.
The energy produced from nuclear energy is much cleaner relative to the energy produced by fossil fuels. So it can be counted as a green alternative if not a green renewable alternative.

Transporation that doesn’t rely on fossil fuels is in higher demand. Many city transportation systems are switching to electric buses and train cars to help reduce the dependency on fossil fuels.
The largest investment sector for green transportation lies in electric vehicles. Investors can look for parts manufacturers, car manufacturers, battery manufacturers, and other green tech companies to invest in this accelerating industry.
This option shows the most promise because if our societies can pull off a switch from gas-powered vehicles to electric power vehicles, we will see less disruption in our daily lives.
Waste Reduction
In a general sense, waste reduction refers to the recycling industry. However, what we can recycle is growing, and how we recycle it is getting better. Investing in waste management companies that can process all different types of waste—from vegetable oils to cell phone batteries and car parts is an excellent way to support this rapidly developing industry.
