Online Food Delivery

My Prepped Pots were delivered in specially designed temperature controlled box. I was particularly impressed at how all the packaging was designed to be reused or recycled.

Musclefood pride themselves on their temperature controlled boxes that keeps food chilled for up to 48 hours. So it was no surprise that my food arrived fresh and in perfect condition.

I unpacked my meals, moved them all into the freezer and claimed a couple of the ice packs (I’m going to use them for future picnics).

Healthy Food

The Prepped Pots all contain delicious and high protein meals. As well as being hit in lean protein these meals are also low fat, salt and sugar and full of clean ingredients. Here‘s the nutritional info for each of the prepped pots I tried.

  • Satay Chicken & Rice Pot (351 kcal, 42g protein, low fat, low salt)
  • Chicken Fajita Rice Pot (344 kcal, 34g protein, 2 of your 5-a-day)
  • Tikka Chicken & Rice Pot (321 kcal, 34g protein, low fat, low salt)
  • Thai Curry Chicken & Rice Pot (274 kcal, 34g protein, low fat)
  • Sausage, Bean & Potato Pot (374 kcal, 26g protein, low sugar)

All the meals are ready to eat in under 10 minutes. It clearly states on the instructions on each pot that they’re better cooked in the microwave from frozen.

My MuscleFoods Prepped Pots review

My health and the health of those around me has always been important to me. I studied sport at university, am a qualified personal trainer and have coached sport in 3 different continents. But exercise is just one part of your health; eating a healthy balanced diet is just as important. That’s why I jumped at the chance to try out healthy pre-convenience meals. Here’s a run down of my musclefoods experience:

MuscleFoods Satay Chicken & Rice Pot

The first Prepped Pot I tried was the Satay Chicken. Firstly, it’s delicious, I couldn’t get enough of it! The portion size is perfect (I felt well fed but not over fed). It tasted fresh; it’s hard to believe that it was frozen. And I felt energised after my meal. I would definitely have this meal again!

Next up was the Sausage, Bean & Potato Pot. I had this as a convenient weekday lunch. It wasn’t really to my taste but I still enjoyed it and it filled me up for the rest of the day.

My partner and I tucked in to the Thai Curry Chicken after work on a Wednesday (hump day). We’re big Thai curry fans so didn’t expect this pot to live up to our usual curry but we were pleasantly surprised. Both of us really enjoyed the meal and it wasn’t greasy like a curry sometimes can be. Therefore, another meal that I would definitely reorder.

I ate the Tikka Chicken in the sun one evening. This one is full of flavour so much more tasty that what you’d expect for a convenience meal.

Thai Curry Chicken & Rice Prepped Pot

I usually have a fairly balanced diet so didn’t expect to notice much of a change when trying out the Prepped Pots. But I can honestly say that I feel more energised having eaten well portioned, healthy and high protein meals this past week. Additionally, this extra energy has encouraged me to go out for a walk/run more than I usually do. I’ve also started to notice that I’m regaining some muscle tone (after a very inactive lockdown).
